When a rental villa has been this well thought out, it’s difficult to know which features to highlight first. Villa Firefly St Barts has so much to offer, from the secluded swimming pool to the walls of glass; the stunning views of picturesque Anse des Cayes, to the seven well-appointed bedrooms, all well designed in mind to make the most of the th...
Contemporary, yet distinctly Caribbean in style, this architect-designed beauty brings glass, wood and stone together on the exterior, and offers multiple levels and varying spaces to suit guests of all ages. The pool deck is a real gem, hunkered down on the hillside behind the dining room, away from the prevailing winds, it’s a protected space ideal for floating around the pool or sunbathing, yet still offering fabulous views of the bay and beach, just below. The outdoor spaces naturally flow indoors thanks to the extensive glass walls, providing protection from the winds when closed yet still affording those views, and when open, the transition from outside to in is seamless.
With the L-shaped configuration of the main building, designed to largely envelop the swimming pool outside, the internal living areas are spacious and open yet also enjoy a level of separation that is perfect for when everyone wants to do their own thing. The great room features a spacious dining table which can be used as the primary dining area, and this space doubles as a TV room or simply a place to sit and relax while enjoying the views, or keeping an eye on the kids in the pool. Sleek and white, the kitchen is luxurious and sure to appeal to would-be master chefs, and it leads through to the main living area with abundant couches and another dining table. Deciding where exactly you want to sit and dine are really the only concerns for guests staying here.
With seven bedrooms there is always the danger of feeling crowded, but not in this corner of paradise. The Master is set in its own pavilion, providing plenty of opportunity for relaxation, while friends and family have their own spaces across the remaining six bedrooms. These are accessed via a quaint staircase from the living room, and all offer high-end finishings and ample space. Two of the bedrooms could be masters themselves, with luxurious en-suite bathrooms and king beds, while the lower floor has the remaining four bedrooms, ideal for kids with their twin beds and family bathroom. Even at full capacity, 14 guests would be still be hard-pushed to make this vacation villa feel overcrowded.
