Like the historic Claridge’s 5-star hotel in London, Villa Claridge is fit for royalty with its superb location, showstopping views, and elegant architecture. Set just a little above the beautiful beach at Anse Des Cayes, it’s not only this bay that guests can ogle upon when staying here. The far-reaching views stretch to the south-east to St Jean Bay and even out to the ocean and the distant Bonhomme Island. A personal staircase in the hillside leads you to the beach below, and there are shops, restaurants and bars close by, but with a swimming pool and multiple spaces for alone time or gathering with friends and family, you hardly need to leave this private oasis.

The combination of inside and outside spaces wraps Villa Claridge up in an inviting package, ready to be unwrapped. Built into the hillside, the architecture makes the most of the sloped setting with several different levels, centered around the lower level with its swimming pool and large deck with views, of course, plus there’s a fitness room here. One of the best features of this luxurious villa are the many different outdoor areas, providing a variety of views, sun, shade, a gentle breeze, a place to barbecue, and multiple spaces to sit and relax, read a book, play a game, or socialize. The opportunities are endless.

Inside, the main level is elevated one floor above the pool, providing an even better vantage point from which to enjoy the views. Here, the large open plan living space features soaring ceilings and the entire villa is dotted with knick-knacks and interesting pieces that give it a homely feel. The elegant interior is mostly white, but rich red and brown woods give a sense of warmth. To one end is the gourmet kitchen with its professional-grade stainless steel appliances and large island, perfect for gathering around, while just to the side is the dining table with room for 10. From here you can spill out onto the terrace which wraps around this level, providing further space for alfresco dining. At the opposite end, a media room is accessed via a few stairs, above the main seating area.

The locations of all four bedrooms provide separation and seclusion for guests when it’s time for alone-time. Each has an ensuite bathroom, and except for the first bedroom, the remaining three are set in external pavilions. Four-poster beds grace two of these bedrooms while the other two are classy and elegant with their use of rich, dark woods. The bathrooms follow this theme with dark woods, and all have spacious walk-in showers; one even has an indoor-outdoor shower.
